Bombed Bath (1942)

Shortly after the bombing of Bath in April 1942 the short film was made, on rare colour film stock, recording the damage. In particular, the damage to the Lansdown district including Julian Road – which was very badly affected. The film stock was provided by sympathetic supporters in the United States. Originally the film was silent, and stark as a result however narration was later provided. Striking to see how parts of the city were reduced to piles of brick and rubble.
