As in previous years we are participating in B&NES Heritage Open Week in October and in addition to offering free admission to all local residents we are, as usual, presenting a programme of short documentary films with contemporary resonance. All the film shows are free!

Traffic in Towns (1963)

When the prospect of towns being overwhelmed by motor traffic first dawned on people, in the 1960s, it took pioneer transport planner Colin Buchanan to come up with solutions. Anyone who’s heard of Bath’s Buchanan Plan may bristle at the idea of what being proposed by him as an-ahem-solution, but here you get a chance to hear the great man, explain things himself. Much-maligned if you ask me.
